Woman wins £112,000 for unfair dismissal and sex discrimination

A woman who was sacked after taking two periods of maternity leave two years apart has won nearly £112,000 compensation for unfair dismissal and sex discrimination.

The Guardian reports that the Employment Appeal Tribunal upheld an original Employment Tribunal decision, and that "it upheld that an individual with childcare responsibilities is fully entitled to restrict her search for alternative employment to a job at a similar level with the same degree of flexibility".
